About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform general preventive maintenance task and minor corrective repair of buildings, building systems, and grounds. They will need to utilize several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repairs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
· Performs or assists in assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
· Reviews assigned work orders and estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks in a timely and effective manner.
· Performs troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing systems, roofs, drains, shop, and drywall repairs.
· Maintains lighting systems throughout the portfolio, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.
· Maintains grounds of facility or property performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing or snow removal.
· Performs carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.
· Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

Compensation range: $18-$22 based on market compensation for skills depending on experience, plus benefits which include:

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or equivalent, 3+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

· Ability to write simple correspondence.

· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members in a professional and polite manner.


REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

· Ability to recognize and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

· Must have the ability to work with others, the ability to follow direction from management, and the ability to follow workplace procedures.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to pass a full background check, DMV check, and drug screening. (Note: as it pertains to marijuana use, company will consider applicable state law when test results are received). Must be able to work in DOD facilities.

· Positive attitude, willingness to learn and a desire to be successful.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders and ability to lift and/or carry loads of 50 lbs or more. The employee is occasionally required to use hand and power tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.


AVAILABILITY

Standard work hours for this position are 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Must be willing to be on call. Duties are shared amongst team members.


TRAVEL

This position is based in Longmont but on occasion may be required to travel to locations in neighboring communities in which the company provides services.
